Last month Phillip Strickland and Mathieu Fourtillan from Ennov attended the Society of Clinical Data Management (SCDM) 2017 Conference in Orlando, Florida. The SCDM conference brings together hundreds of clinical data management professionals from all over the world for four days of educational sessions and industry speakers on the hot topics in data management today. Attendees are also offered the opportunity to meet over 60 industry vendors in the exhibit hall.
Ennov made its first appearance at an SCDM conference this year and was extremely happy with the turn out. We met many data management professionals throughout the conference and were able to share with them the story of Ennov. We conducted several product demonstrations throughout the conference and showed just how flexible the Ennov Clinical platform is, allowing the data manager to fully administer and control their EDC environment without any programming or advanced IT skills needed. Everyone loved our applications and found the end user interface very intuitive. Sadly, many that we interacted with at our booth told us that it was either too painful for their companies to switch EDC systems or that the decisions were made higher-up in the company outside of the data management team.
While it seems that decisions to select an EDC or other Clinical systems are made without the true users in mind, this should not be the case. Data managers are a critical piece to the successful completion of a clinical trial. They are often the ones tasked with managing the EDC system and technology vendors and they are typically a key piece when dealing with the end users at the study sites. Ensuring that data managers are on board with the EDC system being used is paramount to running a successful clinical trial.
The SCDM 2018 Conference will be held in Seattle-Bellevue, Washington, 23-26 September 2018. Join Ennov and hundreds of other data management professionals there for what no doubt will be another great data management conference.
